Gevity offers solutions to avoid employment-related litigation
Gevity has started providing Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) to its clients to guard them against office liability claims. These claims are induced by damages like termination, sexual harassment, prejudice, unfair discipline, failure to promote, mismanagement of employee benefits plan, lack of career opportunities, and emotional suffering.
The number of employment-related court cases has been persistently rising. Such employment-related litigations lead to not only penalties, legal fees, and stiff fines, but the firms also have to endure loss of reputation, faith, employee morale, time, and efficiency. Gevity helps get the most out of the returns received on investments by providing its clients with human resources solutions. EPLI will repay small companies the costs of taking a case to court.
Georgia Department of Human Resources settles records
An infringement caused by the Georgia Department of Human Resources (GDHR) in supervising crucial confidential notification records have distressed many parents residing in the state of Georgia. Birth records holding fundamental data regarding the families of children born between April 1, 2006, and March 16, 2007, has been exposed. Concerned parents have been informed of it.
Terming the episode "a tremendous mistake", Stuart Brown, director of the Division of Public Health, however, denied any of the data being misused. The records contained information regarding pregnancy care, parents' race and education, social security numbers, and information regarding the delivery. The data is not believed to bear any names or addresses. The GDHR claims certain documents not to have been shredded, but only discarded. New confidential policy and procedural plans have been planned and executed in order to avoid similar recurrences.
