Salary is the basic pay or reward for the work or service given to the employer. Salary is every employee's right. Every employee is entitled and eligible to get some money for his rendered work. The salary is given as per the job type and level.

The salary is decided on the basis of the job level and position. If the job position is higher then the salary is also high. If the job position is lower then the salary for that job is also lower. The salary is also fixed as per the work nature. When an employee is selected for a job, then the question of salary arises. The salary is fixed by the employer. But the employee has a right to negotiate over the salary.

An employee can have salary negotiations. The employee should think well before negotiating for a salary. There are certain do's and don'ts of salary negotiations. The salary negotiation should be done when the employee has some other equally good job opportunity, because he might also loose his job because of the negotiations. The salary negotiations should be on the reasonable grounds. The salary negotiations should be in a polite manner. There should not be any aggression in the salary negotiation. The employee should ask for a salary that is suitable to his job in reality. The salary negotiation should not spoil the future relations of the employee and the employer.
