not provided United Stationers, a Fortune 500 Company, and North America's largest wholesale distributor of business and office products with sales in excess of $4 billion, is looking to hire a Human Resources Generalist for our new Orlando, FL location.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Lead and coordinate all HR issues in the facility ? Use formal and informal networks and a wide range of relationships to seek information, find solutions to issues as well as enhance partnerships and support the business ? Persuade others through personal energy, business credibility, optimism, and presence ? Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of others in detecting underlying concerns, interests, or emotions, and uses that understanding to develop effective responses to objections ? Maintain a balanced perspective in representing the needs of the business and the associate ? Encourage and support a culture of associate development and performance management to meet the changing needs of the organization ? Demonstrate understanding of departments, processes and functions. ? Set expectations and provides sufficient resources to accomplish tasks. ? Work with high energy level and demonstrate persistence and creativity to achieve results regardless of obstacles. ? Proactively anticipate reactions to change to ensure a successful outcome ? Develop and present solutions, rather than just identifying the problem ? Understand people and data before making judgments and taking action. ? Know when to seek input from manager and when to elevate a problem for resolution ? Understand and demonstrate commitment to the Company Vision and Values and Leadership Practices and work to deepen commitment within the organization ? Contribute to team efforts, such as Local Business Teams and project teams. Maintain a 1 to 3 month planning window. ? Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment, health and safety laws and regulations ? Ensure the consistent and fair application of all work rules, policies/procedures and applicable agreements. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent written and verbal commun ication skills Strong planning and organizational skills are required Proficient computer skills with MS Office Knowledge of state employment laws and the ability to assess facility compliance 3-5 years of HR experience preferably in a distribution environment Leadership and supervisory experience EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required A benefit package may or may not be available.
