Job Posting Title HR Generalist Sarasota, FL 0063 Start Date 07/27/2009 Reference Code 12276b4a-5771-f340-e100-000018282f17 Job Title HR Generalist Sarasota, FL 0063 Division/Entity southern div/coastal reg/sarasota Department Human Resources Project Posting NC54223858 Tasks MAJOR DUTIES: Under the guidance of the HR Manager, work within system organization and corporate Human Resources to implement system initiatives in recruiting and selecting, training, benefits and employee relations. • Develop and implement training programs for new hire orientation, train supervisors and managers on leadership/management/performance/legal topics. • Serve as an advocate for the employees and advise them on benefits, performance and other issues to assist them with their employment. • Compile and analyze data to provide information regarding compensation, turnover and headcount, benefits and other HR related items. • Implement special initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of HR programs. • Assist with staffing and hiring administration activities including drug screening, references, offer letters, etc. • Train, educate and disseminate information on Human Resources policies, programs, practices and procedures. • Coordinate employee activities programs and events, including chairing of committees, writing minutes, compiling attendance lists and coordinating with corporate. • Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICIATIONS: Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, HR management or related field. PHR certification preferred. Experience: Public speaking, facilitation and interpersonal skills in order to speak effectively and persuasively on matters of interest to employees and serve a facilitator with various groups.
High degree of flexibility, ability to multitask and readily accept change.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on details and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively regarding sensitive and confidential matters. Must be able to work with all levels within the organization
Strong working knowledge of computer software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Previous experience with ADP and SAP a plus.
Specialized knowledge of general Human Resources policies, program, methods, practices and procedures related to Employee Relations, Staffing, Compensation, Benefits, EEO/AAP Administration and Employee Activities.
Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function including, but not limited to, FLSA, ADA, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and FMLA
3+ years experience in Human Resources as a generalist.
Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills. Public Speaking and/or presentation skills desired. Also, must have computer competence and ability to run queries from HRIS applications.
Will require travel between West and Central Florida system locations on a weekly basis.
