Payroll Administrator Jobs

A payroll administrator is responsible for updating and managing payroll records of employees of a firm. Typical duties of a payroll administrator include preparing hourly salary and commission payrolls for assigned personnel, reducing gross pay by the help of all authorized and required deductions to net pay, distributing paychecks and earnings statements to department managers, and maintaining human resources benefits records. A payroll administrator typically reports to an accounts director.

A payroll administrator should have a bachelor's degree in accounting. Excellent academic credentials are required. Familiarity with GAAP principles may be essential for some positions.
