A payroll processor professional is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and disbursement of non-exempt payroll for union and non-union employees. A payroll processor professional prepares and disperses weekly and biweekly non-exempt payroll for assigned divisions. A payroll processor professional audits human resources systems data entry for accuracy and reports discrepancies for correction. A payroll processor professional updates system payroll data, establishes authorized incomes and deductions, maintains direct deposit information, and updates local, state, and federal tax withholding deductions. A payroll processor professional prepares standard and adhoc reports for distribution to the field as well as processes approved incentives, fringe benefits, and short-term disability payments. A payroll processor professional maintains accurate payroll records for internal balancing and auditing procedures to reduce the possibility of payroll error and company liability. A payroll processor professional resolves employee payroll problems with division and plant managers.

A payroll processor position requires a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of experience in in-house, computerized payroll processing of non-exempt, union payroll or finance-related processing. A payroll processor professional should have effective communication skills and a high level of customer service ability. Computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Office knowledge with an emphasis on Excel, are required.
