Description:

The Associate Director, Employee & Labor Relations will have an opportunity to be engaged in all of the department’s key processes while supporting continuous improvement efforts to enhance UTC’s employee and labor relations processes and capabilities across the corporation.

Project Management:

Partner with project leads handling companywide initiatives to advise and consult on what impact it will have on our employees and what steps are needed to properly inform and consult our social partners.

Liaison with HR Professionals from in-scope countries to ensure collective obligations are progressing according to plan and all questions from employee representatives are answered in a timely fashion.

Lead the monthly Information and Consultation status calls with the Euro E&LR Council to ensure all collective obligations resulting from UTC-wide initiatives are met throughout Europe.

Restructuring:

Support operating units preparing for negotiation/information and consultation requirements and ensure employment cost assumptions are appropriately integrated into potential projects.

Monitor/analyze employee and labor relations trends and ensure operating units are kept informed of and prepared for changes in the global employee and labor relations landscape.

Provide research and data analysis support as needed.

Contract Negotiations:

Support and monitor labor negotiation preparations, progress, outcomes, and implementation across UTC’s operating units. Maintain/update the UTC costing model and serve as the link between the operating units and UTC Benefits.

Talent Development:

Prepare/deliver content for E&LR Forums and identify external training/development resources responsive to functional development needs and MFA.

Lead campus recruiting activity to meet operating units’ needs for E&LR talent as needed.

Positive Employee Relations:

Manage and participate in the climate assessment process.

Update existing and develop new Positive Employee Relations tools.

Budget Management:

Manage the budget process for the department, and ensure that costs are tracked throughout the year

Qualification:

7 years of increasingly responsible experience in all aspects of employee and labor relations/human resources, including, positive employee relations, contract administration, contingency planning, and contract negotiations preparation and execution.

Ability to work across different groups, regions, and cultures to implement projects/processes.

Demonstrated process focus, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with contract costing and language development required.

Exposure to international employee and labor relations preferred.

Education:

B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations, Labor & Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field.
