Principal Financial Analyst, Incentive Compensation
The Global Business Unit HQ Finance organization provides Financial Support and oversight to Oracle's Global Business Units. The GBU HQ Compensation Team as part of the GBU HQ Finance Team sets guidelines and accountability for incentive compensation planning practices and activities across the GBUs. It liaises with GBU Business Operations, Global Incentive Compensation, Global Compensation Administration, the Compensation GPO Team, and GBU Operations & Finance Teams to set targets and issue incentive compensation plans. It supports various reporting and automation initiatives utilizing incentive compensation data and facilitates resolution to outstanding compensation issues in the GBUs.
This role assists with GBU Finance's oversight of all sales (and delivery) compensation matters. To be considered for the position, applicants must have significant demonstrable compensation or finance experience. The role requires a high degree of coordination with counterparts in GBU Business Operations, Global Compensation Administration, Global Incentive Compensation, HR and Finance. Candidates should be analytical, collaborative and articulate.
Tasks include reviewing/analyzing annual sales quotas against company strategic goals, advising on plan selection, reviewing and summarizing quota revision requests, maintaining internal Q&A email queue, submitting plans, and Management Reporting of comp-related performance.
The Compensation Finance Analyst may be called on to assist with various other Finance responsibilities, including consulting delivery bonus compensation, executive compensation, new compensation systems testing & implementation, quota modeling in Excel worksheets, Oracle Club performance analysis and selection, partnering with M&A to plan integration activities around compensation planning, coordination with GIC on systems setup for new compensation plans, moderating and gathering of year-over-year strategic planning requests from GBUs, mega deal review and analysis, pool target setting and alignment to budgets, commission expense reviews, and compensation documentation & editing of GBF level guidelines. The Compensation Finance Analyst will lead projects and conference calls with all levels of management across the GBUs and other organizations noted above.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
8 years of work experience in FP&A, Business Unit Finance, Sales Finance or relevant operational role
Experience working across teams and departments
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, HR Management or related field of study
Demonstrated forecasting, financial modeling and scenario modeling experience
Strong proficiency with MS Excel
Experience with compensation planning or administration systems
Experience with systems design & implementation
Documentation experience of business requirements
Established analytical and problem solving skills
Basic understanding of sales compensation design concepts/principles
Exposure to Sales Ops functions including pipeline, forecasting, and territories
Exposure to ERP Environment including System based reporting - BI Reporting, Hyperion
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Management of individuals or teams, directly or indirectly
Capacity to interact with executives
Eagerness to understand complex issues and simplify/bring to resolution
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Financial support to business areas through financial analysis, budgeting, planning & forecasting; to facilitate decision making and future business strategies.
As a member of Oracle's finance organization, you will be responsible for providing all aspects of financial support for planning and control. Assist in consolidation and reporting of financial results; preparation of annual budget. Gather, model, analyze, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, operating forecasts, trended future specifications, etc.; on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Prepares recommendations based on analyzes. May perform revenue and expense analysis, headcount and headcount driven expense analysis at cost center level, tracking of product and product line revenue, reconciliation of accounts receivable, variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis as needed. You may participate in cross functional programs and projects.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency in Oracle Financials. Strong analysis and research skills. Ability to partner across functions. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA in Accounting/Finance preferred. CPA/MBA desired.
