Flatiron, with a construction volume of more than $1 billion, is one of the leading providers of transportation construction and civil engineering in North America. Its core competencies include major bridge, highway, and rail projects. Named after the unique rock formations found near Boulder, Colo., Flatiron has grown from a small materials company to one of the largest transportation and infrastructure contractors in the nation. This growth began in the late 1980s when the company secured a series of contracts along Interstate 70 through the Glenwood Canyon Corridor, Colorado's most scenic stretch of interstate. Flatiron was recognized for its work on I-70 with awards that catapulted the company into national prominence.
