HR Generalist

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for administering and supporting the day-to-day operations of Human Resources functions including but not limited to training, employee development, performance, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and recruiting. The HR Generalist maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Work on various human resources functions including but not limited to benefits, payroll processing, training, recruiting, employee relations and performance management

Administer the Learning and Performance Management System

Create CBT courses and curriculums using a variety of authoring tools

Collaborate with external suppliers and internal Subject Matter Experts to develop and deliver targeted, just-in-time training

Coordinate training for management in areas of interviewing, hiring, performance review, and other topics

Evaluate and develop competency and skill development plans to ensure alignment of employee skills and corporate/business unit goals

Maintain job descriptions and job ladders

Administer workers compensation, unemployment and employee benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k, COBRA and FMLA

Conduct new hire orientation, on-boarding meetings and exit interviews

Maintain recruiting HRIS, post jobs, screen applicants and set up interviews

Responsible for the full cycle payroll process

Responsible for quarter and year end payroll reporting

Create and maintain various excel spreadsheets and reports

Maintain employee files and HRIS including new hires, departmental transfers, salary increases, tax withholding changes, terminations, and all other entries

Respond to inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, policies, procedures, and other HR programs

Assist Managers with employee requisitions, corrective and disciplinary actions, performance management, and other HR topics

Assist in policy development, documentation and communication

Assist the Director of Human Resources with assignments and special projects

Assist in coordinating special corporate campaigns and events

Create content and perform updates on the company intranet site

Handle site/facilities operations

Travel up to 15%

Continuously improve our commitment to excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety and Security performance

Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree required, Human Resources/Business degree preferred

PHR or SPHR preferred

Minimum 5 years of HR experience required

Must have experience in multiple human resources disciplines

Extensive experience in creative sourcing using social media, job board websites, industry and trade sites

HRIS and LMS system experience required

ADP and Cornerstone experience preferred

Advanced knowledge and skill in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel required

Advanced verbal and written communication skills and ability to relate to all levels of the organization

Proven skill in delivering exceptional customer service

Exhibit ethical behavior and confidentiality

Experience dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters required

SharePoint experience preferred

Knowledge of HR related state and federal regulations required (multi-state preferred)
