Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the HR Operations for the Mid Atlantic Division that includes Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC and Richmond. This position will sit in either our Baltimore, MD or Arlington, VA office but must be available to travel to all offices in the division. The HRBP will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating the day to day HR activities including providing hands-on support of all issues related to employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, succession planning and employee development.


Human Resources Business Partners
typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Provide strategic and hands-on support of all issues related to employment, compensation, employee relations, succession planning and employee development.
- Develop relationships with the Business Unit Leaders, Operations Managers and Department Heads to be a credible valued business partner to achieve the business and HR strategic objectives.
- Provide expert coaching on applicable employment laws and human resource practices including compliance, compensation, performance management, recruiting & selection, and employee relations.
- Provide direction on and is responsible for execution for local implementation of organization-wide HR policies and programs.
- Coach managers to handle complex employee matters, facilitate difficult and challenging conversations to achieve conflict resolution and make recommendation for closure
- Partner with management in forecasting staffing needs, managing turnover and planning for growth or attrition
- Promote and advocate company-wide initiatives that support employee growth, performance, engagement, and development.
- Participate in the business unit strategic planning process.
- Work closely with the HR Director to ensure that HR processes, actions and programs for the organization and division are in alignment and executed.
- Facilitate the local talent review and succession planning process and ensure development plans are in place for emerging leaders.
- Coordinate, report on and oversee employee engagement survey results and improvement plans
- Oversee and execute college hiring and internship programs.
- Liaise with the Talent Acquisition (TA) team regarding new openings to ensure TA team has current understanding of all hiring needs and participate in interviewing and selection of key hires.


- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years professional Human Resources experience with at least 2-3 years as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner.
- Prior experience in the A/E/C industry is preferable.
- The successful candidate should possess an undergraduate degree. A Masters Degree in an applicable field and HR certification are a plus.


- Ability to develop strong business relationships to coach and provide advice and counsel to leaders
- Ability to work with ambiguity and think strategically
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to drive appropriate solutions
- Fast paced with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent change management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership to adopt changes
- Proven successes as an HR Business Partner in a large fast paced environment
