Human Resources - Houston, TX - Full Time

The Ideal candidate

for the HR Admin position is a college graduate, who is looking to get their foot in the door within the HR field. The person must be organized and able to learn quickly, while multitasking numerous responsibilities.

Position summary:

The human resources administrative assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. The position reports to the HR Manager and assists the entire HR team.

Qualifications required:

A bachelor’s degree

Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications desired:

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or Business-related field

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Answers phones for the HR department

Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance

Assists with new-employee orientations

Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions

Assists with the time keeping system maintenance by reviewing timesheets daily

Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status

Assists the HR Manager with HR projects

Assists with benefits administration

Assists with social media employer branding

Maintains and distributes the company newsletter

Maintains all field reporting communications such as: Staffing Snapshot, Turnover Report, HR Board daily updates

Assists with maintaining the HR Calendar and coordinates with other departments regarding scheduling

Handles the timely distribution of birthday and anniversary cards to employees

Assists with projects as needed

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift or move up to ten (10) pounds. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, extensive reading, transcribing, and viewing a computer screen.

Work environment:

The noise level in the work environment is minimal to moderate. The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
