Beacon Roofing Supply, a Fortune 500 Company with more than 550 locations in all 50 U.S. states and 6 Canadian provinces, is seeking a progressive and forward-thinking Recruiting Manager to lead our dynamic and growing recruiting function. In this role, you will bring executive presence and deep subject-matter expertise to develop and drive our best-in-class recruiting strategies and initiatives across the company and continually leverage a pipeline of qualified and diverse talent.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will build and foster strong partnerships with hiring managers and Human Resources partners to execute the company’s recruiting plans while leading and developing our centralized recruiting model and team. You will feel a strong sense of pride as you bring our value proposition to life and share our compelling story of growth and performance with prospective hires. You will possess demonstrated knowledge of leading recruiting techniques and models and remain adaptive as business demands evolve. You will spearhead the evolution of the Beacon recruiting program, manage and guide the company’s full hiring life cycle, including all milestones of the recruiting process. The qualified candidate will:
Build and manage productive partnerships with the company’s leadership team, engagement leads, and hiring managers using strong influencing skills to gain trust as a knowledgeable talent expert.
Lead, coach, and develop our talented recruiting staff and project teams in a complex and high-volume recruiting environment to ensure successful execution of the company’s recruiting plans.
Collaborate with leadership to establish our pipeline strategy. Conduct recruiting planning and forecasting sessions to ensure internal and external talent flow meets current and future needs.
Develop capabilities across the company to ensure we are recruiting top talent, with a focus on retention and successful employee onboarding and integration.
Drive efforts to build and maintain a robust pipeline of diverse talent by researching and sourcing leveraging a variety of talent pools across different markets and candidate sources.
Develop and maintain close relations with key external organizations in support of our military and diversity recruitment efforts.
Expand and drive the company’s university relations and entry level recruiting program in conjunction with the Human Resources team members and other leaders.
Design, implement, and maintain effective processes and tools to “scale” and enhance the recruiting function.
Co-lead the development and implementation of a robust applicant tracking system (ATS) to support the sourcing, hiring, tracking, and process efficiencies required for our high-volume recruiting needs.
Manage and nurture relationships with external partners, including search firms, temporary agencies, recruiting process outsourcing experts, and others as needed.
Identify and integrate selected candidate assessment tools (behavioral and technical) for the selection and hiring across key disciplines.
Remain current on the latest technologies and disruptive recruiting tools and techniques, including leveraging external resources and social media.
Develop hiring dashboards and automated reports and feedback loops to support tracking and resource alignment around staffing needs.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Advanced degree in Business, Human Resources or Organizational Development is preferred.
5 years of corporate recruitment operations with evidence of career growth and advancement.
Extensive experience with a recognized high-volume search firm and/or professional recruiting function of a leading Fortune 500 company.
Proven experience leading a co-located or decentralized team with strong coaching, motivating, and mentoring skills required.
Ability to understand business requirements and recommend appropriate recruitment solutions.
Demonstrated experience successfully recruiting and placing salaried professionals and leaders across various functions of a business.
Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with a track record of delivering high-quality results on time.
Demonstrated ability and comfort to move seamlessly between strategy development and tactical execution.
Ability to be innovative and offer up creative solutions to changing business needs.
Strong aptitude for interpreting analytics to monitor trends and adjust approach for optimal business impact.
Strong process improvement and project management skills.
Track record of effectively leading teams, coaching, building partnerships and effectively managing and resolving challenges.
Strong initiative and follow-up, including a strong sense of urgency and autonomy.
Demonstrate managerial courage and ability to provide timely and actionable constructive feedback to direct reports and colleagues.
Ability to manage competing demands, accept constructive feedback, and remain adaptable and flexible.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Please note: This position requires up to 25% travel. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight.
