Human Resources Intern
Non-Exempt/Temporary (Summer 2019)
$12.00/hour (undergrads and recent grads) or $15.00/hour (graduate students)
30 - 40 hours/week, 8 weeks
The Human Resources (HR) Intern will gain practical, professional work experience in several facets of Human Resources in the non-profit/media industry. The intern will serve as a key player in the planning, creating, implementation and analysis of HR initiatives, which may include: learning and development programs; employment branding and promotion; and development and articulation of policy and HR documentation.
Assist in the development and execution of a variety of ongoing learning and development programs.
Develop and implement an employment branding strategy designed to promote PBS as an employer to potential job candidates.
Review, update and refine policies in one or more HR-managed employment handbooks.
Review organizational Intranet to identify and execute needed updates in layout, forms and documentation.
Assist HR team with other initiatives as needed.
A graduate student in a relevant program (e.g., Masters in Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, etc.) strongly preferred; or
Undergraduate student (junior or senior only) studying Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
An aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and technologies
Experience using an HRIS a plus
