The Project-Program Specialist/Job Developer works under the immediate supervision of the Director. The job developer is responsible for developing relationships with employers in the state of Arkansas; coordinating with Career Coaches to successfully screen and match students with the job based on employer qualifications; providing on-going retention services and supports to both the employer and student; scheduling daily prospecting/ research/cold calls and face-to- face meetings with employers to discuss summer internships and Cooperative Education opportunities; achieving quarterly and annual placement goals; maintaining relationships with existing employers, internal customers, and establishing relationships with new employers; collecting data from employers related to job opportunities including job requirements and skills; making necessary follow-up with employers within two weeks after students are placed; and performing other duties as assigned or necessary. This position is funded in part by a grant from Title III.



Bachelor’s degree and two to five years of professional work experience that includes previous experience in higher education in an employment, placement, recruiting environment; Master’s degree and previous experience with Career Services or Cooperative Education preferred.


Ability to meet deadlines and to work effectively with a diverse group of employers, faculty, staff and community leaders; strong time management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and also within a team; ability to effectively market and represent the program in a professional manner and appearance; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Human Resource Management, recruitment and sales experience is a plus.
