Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and will provide both hands-on tactical solutions and strategic guidance to employees. This position is on a temporary basis at Teledyne Controls in El Segundo, California for an estimated 6 months or longer.Your MissionContribute to strategic planning and serve as the primary interface of Engineering Department.Address complex employee relations matters, investigate, where appropriate, and provide appropriate recommendations.Counsel Managers and employees to improve overall people performanceProvide guidance and support in administering human resources policies and procedures to ensure that employees receive fair and reasonable treatment to establish a supportive work environment and to avoid potential legal liabilities.Coach line supervisors and managers on dealing with work and people related issuesReview and approve all disciplinary actions to ensure consistency, proper documentation, and due process.Provides first line support for all employees’ inquiries. Addresses and resolves employee relations concern in a timely and responsive manner.Develop and report against key HR metrics designed to identify and improve progress against team goalsAnalyze employee exit interviews and collaborate with management to opportunities for improvementWork closely with HR Director and Training and Development to cultivate a positive work environment and develop employee engagement programsBe a trusted resource to managers and employees on a wide variety of human resources topics including policy interpretation, benefits, workers’ compensation, employee investigations, and pay-related issuesDevelop a strong understanding of all company benefits and perks and effectively articulate those to employees and other stakeholders.Process and track leaves of absences and reasonable accommodations.What you will bringAt least three (3) years’ of professional human resources experience required, ideally in a mid-size company (500 employees), preferably in a high volume, fast pace work environment in an aerospace or manufacturing environmentPractical and significant experience in conflict resolution, performance enhancement and employee relations at all levels of a complex engineering and manufacturing organizationComprehensive, thorough knowledge of human resources activities, including payroll, benefits, and California legal complianceCollaborative team player who can communicate effectively with others at a variety of levels within the organization, as well as externally.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.Disciplined self-starter with can-do attitude; proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, both in-person and virtually.Strong skills with the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as experience with HRIS.Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, steadfast integrity and strident on privacy issues.Flexible and adaptable in an ever changing and exciting environment.
