How you will make an impact - Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies - Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities - Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Offer proper review and verification of source documents - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities - Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads - Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines - Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures - Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation - Handle all payroll information questions and requests - Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Collect, calculate, and enter relevant data to maintain payroll records - Perform other tasks as necessary - Help payroll manage all internal and external audits

Job Requirements

- General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll detail oriented - 5 years of relevant experience in payroll - Excellent data entry skills - Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Prior experience working with collections/accounting software - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Solid understanding of ADP Workforce Now - Knowledge of internal controls
