Director of Human Resources
Full Time Exempt (40 hours per week)
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Records and HRIS Management
Maintain employee files, including filing and purging.
Update, review and/or approve changes to information in HRIS including but not limited to the following: address and personal information, job and salary changes, terminations, benefits and insurance, and other information as requested.
Communicate key mission movement information in HQ Update, Mission News and email, which includes location changes (any type of missionary movement).
Maintain and track home assignment and alpha/career/ambassador status changes.
Track and submit certificates of coverage (SSA Totalization) for overseas missionaries.
Maintain organizational charts monthly.
Maintain mentor list.
Track employee checklists and follow up to ensure completion of required tasks; including completion of trainings.
Support Calculations and Compensation
Update support calculations as requested.
Update and send mission-wide support calculations annually.
Create annual housing allowance survey, collect data, and review prior to submitting to Board for approval.
Submit housing allowance requests to Board as requested throughout the year.
Collect and review data for salary/housing allowance, HA transfer, and Conference transfer requests.
Prepare annual cost of living and compensation analysis.
EEO and AAP
Collect and prep Affirmative Action Plan data.
Ensure compliance with current and new AAP guidelines.
Submit annual EEO and Vets reporting.
Policies and Procedures
Administer various human resources plans and procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures.
Maintain the employee handbook, missionary handbook and other policies/procedures manuals.
Manage and monitor leave requests.
Coordinate, monitor and track ADAAA requests and progress.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and local, state, federal, and international laws.
Monitor local, state, and federal laws regularly to ensure organization’s compliance.
Recruiting and Hiring
Participate in candidates’ selection process as assigned.
Create, review and finalize job descriptions.
Ensure all positions have an updated job description.
Create and update interview questions.
Provide support for training programs; includes research, create/edit documents, implement, and track:
Missionary Phase I, II, III; Supervisory, Intern, Limited Term, Harassment, Child Safety, and others as assigned.
Assist with HR Committee Board meetings:
Draft meeting agenda and minutes.
Attend, record and distribute minutes in the meetings.
Other meeting preparations as requested.
Obtain HR Committee Board members’ signatures as needed.
Manage termination process.
Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation; such as donor letters for terminated missionaries.
Conduct exit interviews.
Ensure termination process is complete across departments.
HR department point of contact for employees.
Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Assist or prepare correspondence, such as:
Employment verification letters.
Employment verification to obtain visas, etc.
Monitor tuition reimbursement program.
Serve as onsite Notary.
Must attend Chapel weekly and other meetings as required.
Provide HR support to Cadence Worldwide Conference.
Assist with various special projects.
Make photocopies, faxes documents and perform other clerical functions.
Back-up other HR staff as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field and four-year experience in the HR field. Minimum of two-year in HR Generalist work or higher.
Require PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-CSP certification.
Require prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
Must possess advance skill with computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Internet) and must be willing to learn new applications.
Require effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
High level of administrative skills; including data entry, strong attention to detail and paperwork.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Heart for reaching military and the world reflected through personal serving of others and sharing of resources.
Born again, mature Christian with an affinity for the mission and work of Cadence International.
Preferred experience with religious non-profit organization.
