Central Amusement International LLC is an operator of amusement parks located in New York. Created in 2003, the Company opened the operation of Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park, and in 2010 expanded the business by becoming the main operator in the Coney Island amusement district. The Company has since diversified its business into the food operations and, at heart, the Company is part of a multinational group of companies known as Zamperla, which is a premiere-worldwide leader in the manufacture of amusement rides.

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team of professionals to run the operations based in Coney Island. The position will be responsible for managing the HR department, implementing the HR services (from recruitment needs to policies updates), training new hires, being the liaison between employees and management of the Company. The ideal candidate should have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, strong analytical and problems-solving skills, and an ability to handle short-term deadlines and high volumes of HR related data.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead full life cycle recruitment efforts for high volume seasonal positions and assist in hiring permanent staff.

Assist managers and employees in understanding and applying HR tools in order to maximize employees’ performance and retention, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employees’ engagement and ensure legal compliance.

Respond to HR inquiries, including but not limited to inquiries on policies, procedures, benefits and payroll in compliance with corporate polices and applicable local, state and federal laws. Assist employees with benefits and payroll related questions and concerns.

Work with the Payroll Department to monitor the administration of weekly payroll and related functions and to manage and maintain HRIS database.

Work with the HR team and department leads to develop and maintain accurate job descriptions and maintain organization chart.

Responsible for HR and Payroll reporting. (scheduled and ad hoc)

Implement and update employees’ handbook and forms.

Manage Workers’ Compensation, Disability and FMLA issues.

Respond to unemployment claims.

Monitor for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEOC and OSHA policies.

Coordinate with operations management to facilitate the J1 Visa program.

Maintain HR records by designing a filing and retrieval system.

Partner with senior management on preparing and improving the training and development of permanent and seasonal staff.

Supports the facilitation of performance and development review process with managers and 

Partner with the Administrative Headquarter when needed

Job Requirements

Bachelor Degree required; in Human Resources/Business preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources Management

SHRM – CP or PHR a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Knowledge of Paychexflex, ATS, and Time Management Systems a plus

Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to HR issues
