Serves as the point-of-contact to receive documents that affect pay and to distribute various reports. Maintains files, performs local record keeping and provides customer service to employees. Serves as a point-of-contact for time and attendance input and maintenance to include reconciliations, troubleshooting and corrections. The employee performs other payroll-type duties concerning general document processing, to include the actual input of obligations, accruals, and closeout of documents within automated systems.,qualifications:To qualify for the Civilian Payroll Technician, PG -0544-9, you must meet the following requirements:nnApplicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the PG-8 (or equivalent) grade level or higher. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position.nnQualifying specialized experience includes: Proficient navigation of pay systems (WebTA, and National Finance Center (NFC) to create employee records and to verify/validate the accuracy of information entered for personnel actions processed; researching pay and leave data and information to address inquiries and to determine resolutions to problems or issues; and providing guidance and instruction to others experiencing issues with pay and leave systems. How long you worked in each, days, months years and exactly what work you perfromed in each part of the system.nnSelective Placement Factor #2: Please list the length of the time that you have worked in the webTA Time and Attendance leave system, days months, years, and explain exactly what work you performed in each part of the system.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.All qualificationnnrequirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (01/31/2020) to be considered.
