We have an immediate opening for a full-time Learning & Development Specialist to work in our busy Rockville, MD office. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, coordinating and evaluating organization learning & development programs, tools and processes to improve and enhance organizational performance and achieve strategic goals and objectives.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for:

Collaborate with internal departments and teams to develop and implement training content for new hire training and onboarding and ongoing professional development; serve as a coach and mentor on delivering effective trainings.

Design and develop face-to-face as well as Web-based/distributed educational products and materials from needs analysis and development of instructional objectives to designing instruction to the final evaluation of course or courseware. Instructional materials should be interactive, innovative, functional, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design and learning theory principles.

Partner with internal departments and external vendors to develop and deliver best in class training and leadership solutions and drive program execution.

Serve as an advisor, trainer, coach and expert to all staff members in the areas of employee learning and development.

Work with managers and subject matter experts to develop training materials effective for seasonal staff and redeployed team members on tactical and technical aspects for each role.

Keeping apprised of training techniques/trends and industry best practices.

Proactively identifies opportunities to leverage technology, improve processes, and enhance relationships to improve the organization’s success.

Monitors and reports the effectiveness of training on employees during the orientation period and for career development.

Creates a portfolio of development solutions to ensure the appropriate applications are deployed, including, but not limited to classroom, e-learning and guided learning.

Skills & Requirements

You’ll Be Successful Because You Are:

Knowledgeable: A four-year degree in business, industrial/organizational psychology, human resources, training and development, adult education, instructional design, and/or related required. Strong presentation/platform skills.

Experience: You’ve got at least 3 years of Training, Education or Employee Development under your belt, preferably in healthcare.

A conflict management master: Whereas some people shy away from conflict, you see opportunity.

Adept at managing complexity: Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills are required.

Results-Oriented: You can be counted on to exceed goals, and you’re known to push yourself and others across the finish line.
