Summary: The Senior Manager of Payroll will oversee the functioning of the Payroll Department at the strategic (macro) level. This individual is responsible for adherence of multi-state tax laws and to ensure accurate and timely payment to all employees. The Senior Manager of Payroll is also accountable for the development of checks and balances in order to assure proper processing procedures, as well as establish and enforce payroll best practices to be used company-wide. This individual must be a driver of efficiency and change within the Payroll function.Key Responsibilities:-Payroll management including oversight of weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll for both Home Office and Shacks, including: garnishments, benefits, stock options, taxes and balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.-Prepares departmental metrics and analytical reporting. -Ensure that SOX payroll controls are in place and operating accordingly.-Tax and insurance compliance including determining payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.-ERP System and employee administration, including preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages and accurate and timely period end processing. Managing of third party integrations.-Internal Communication and external support to employees and vendors. Ensure that SLAs are adhered to as it relates to the Payroll function. -Demonstrates business acumen for managing diverse staff, collaborating with other departments and working with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.-Provides direct support to the Payroll Lead, and indirect support to the Payroll Specialists on a day to day basis. Facilitates ongoing coaching and development of staff, as well as conducts quarterly reviews and prepares annual performance appraisals.
