The Rhode Island Blood Center is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist performs complicated and responsible HR assignments related to development and administration of company policies and procedures, involving independent judgment and discretion. Prepares, updates, and maintains procedures under areas of responsibility in compliance with federal and state legislation and company policy.

Manages talent management strategy, full-cycle recruitment processes and workforce planning. Responsible for legal compliance as it relates to tracking and records retention with regard to the company’s talent acquisition efforts. Provides training as it pertains to structured interview processes. Develops, implements and participates in employee engagement initiatives including on-boarding and orientation in partnership with QA/Compliance. Oversees Predictive Index assessment program. Oversee implementation and continuous operation of applicant tracking system.

In collaboration with the Manager of Human Resources, provides consultation and training to Senior Management, Directors, Managers, and Supervisors on Human Resources policies, issues and concerns. Advise management and provide expertise on matters relating to Blood Center policies, fair labor practices, state and federal statutes, and other compliance issues. Addresses employee relations issues. Maintain current knowledge of federal and state employment laws, Blood Center company policies and Blood Center department practices.

Consults with the Manager of Human Resources and Senior Management to determine the Blood Center’s compensation and performance management objectives. Plans, develops, and administers compensation and performance management programs. Completes periodic salary analysis,

evaluates the effectiveness of current compensation and performance management programs, and recommends changes to ensure market competitiveness of the Blood Center’s compensation programs. Administers job evaluation system and maintains database of company job descriptions.

Maintain departmental metrics and statistical reports pertaining to recruiting and retention.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or relevant discipline required. Significant experience in Human Resources may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.

Experience/Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resources experience required. SHRM-CP or PHR Preferred. Must be detail-oriented, customer-focused, have solid verbal/written communication skills, and analytical, organizational, and planning abilities. Must have ability to work independently, under minimum supervision, and to effectively balance and prioritize workload while meeting deadlines. Some travel to other Blood Center work locations may be required.

Computer Skills: Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office environment, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Must have a working knowledge of databases, information systems, and applicant tacking systems.
