The Sr Manager, HR serves as strategic HR business partner to the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) leaders and their teams to translate business strategy into HR strategy and organizational needs to HR solutions and plans. This role will support the Genetic Sciences Division leaders’ goals to build organizational capabilities by attracting, engaging, developing and retaining the top talent required for short and long-term business success.
How will you make an impact:
The HR Business partner/Senior Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for developing HR/Talent and change management strategies and managing all aspects of Human Resources for a full P&L business unit. This business minded, solutions oriented, customer focused leader will work with the business leaders to ensure the business has the current and future organizational capabilities required and an organization that operates effectively through its management team to enable business growth. This position will also lead and manage assigned Division-wide initiatives.
As the HRBP, this person will work effectively across a matrixed environment, engaging and aligning with business leaders, HRBPs/HR field teams in multiple countries, and HR centers of excellence (COE) or “platforms” to identify gaps and opportunities, and together develop the go-forward winning organizational and talent strategy. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership agility, showing a curiosity and passion the mission, setting priorities, and taking action in an organized, proactive manner.
What you will do:
Actively contributes to the business conversation in day to day business meetings, quarterly business reviews and other management team forums.
Coach senior leaders on complex leadership and talent issues and support building organizational capability.
Develop the organization’s HR/Talent strategies. Translate business strategy and objectives into goals and workforce plans.
Create a vision for talent strategy in the business unit. Develop a solid strategic human resource plan to support and drive the needs of the business.
Act as a catalyst for change; guides and directs organizational design, development and change management solutions. Identify talent issues before they impact the business.
Develops and implements robust integrated talent management plans and drives culture change initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles.
Collaborates with COE Specialists to execute and implement large-scale HR initiatives (i.e., roll out annual programs, new programs/policies, etc.).
Facilitate organizational diagnosis and establish metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent, organizational capabilities, and culture.
Uses insights and data to drive decision-making and action-planning. Balances data analysis, experience and judgment to form strategies and solutions to drive action planning.
Keeps abreast of industry, market and functional trends, and leverages these insights to develop appropriate business unit and site HR strategies and solutions.
Contract with the broader HR organization to support the business in areas such as talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, and shared service center support.
Ability to build relationships to effectively operate in a highly matrixed environment.
Manages HR priorities for the business, commissions HR solutions that align to business and HR goals, and leads successful implementation of initiatives.
Ensure alignment of HR processes i.e. Human Resources Review (HRR), Performance Management and Development (PMD), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), etc. with strategic and operating goals.
Demonstrated ability to balance thoroughness with sense of urgency to deliver on commitments with excellence.
Brings passion and energy to the role, leveraging best practices and innovative ideas to solve complex business challenges.
Experience in taking complex, ambiguous situations and creating clarity of action.
How will you get here:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, human resources, or related discipline required. A strong aptitude for business and financial topics is highly recommended.
Eight to ten years of progressive experience in all aspects of Human Resources and as a HR Business Partner who has supported multiple commercial and clients.
Experience as the lead HRBP for a full P&L business (strong financial acumen)
Ability to execute and influence across geographic/functional lines around the world.
Ability to communicate complex information in an understandable, organized, concise manner
communicate the business story, and explain data for varying audiences
Ability to gain trust, respect, and support through business knowledge and functional competence.
Willingness and ability to travel 10-15% of the time.
