This position supervises the payroll systems team and all payroll processes including system development, conversions, interfaces, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing functionality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direction for the payroll system including major configuration changes, updates, testing, customer requested enhancements, troubleshooting, procedures, documentation, and training
-Identify, assess, and resolve issues and problems with payroll system
-Execute testing, validate results, and resolve test errors for system changes
-Monitors payroll system to ensure integrity of data
-Modifies and develops processes improvements, design and implements ongoing process efficiencies.
Assists the Payroll Systems Manager with vendor relationships of DaVita payroll business partners
Provides leadership to direct reports.
-Knows, understands, implements, follows, and communicates to teammates all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment.
-Facilitates teammate development including goals and goal achievement measurements.
-Maintains familiarity with and communicate to teammates DaVita programs impacting teammates.
-Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered during projects
-Determines staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates; ensure coverage during teammate absences
Manages all teammate employment activity including but not limited to hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required
Assists in the design and documentation of process flows for existing or to-be processes of DaVita's payroll and timekeeping systems
Recommends changes to create efficiencies and enhance performance of Payroll Department to Manager and/or Director.
Develops and maintains close relationships and open communication with all areas of payroll and field locations.
Assists in the design and documentation of educational programs to keep teammates up-to-date on DaVita policies, new laws and regulations impacting work, and other information necessary to maintain teammates' knowledge of department processes and goals .
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in related area preferred
Minimum of six (6) years' experience in payroll and payroll systems
-Experience with payroll system conversion
-Experience with payroll system development, configuration, testing, implementation, management, and enhancement of systems
-Experience managing system integrations preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred
Multi-state payroll and payroll tax experience, in an in-house processing environment
Working knowledge of Payroll accounting and benefits administration as it affects payroll.
Minimum of five (5) years' gathering business requirements and writing and executing test scripts
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Above average problem solver with strong analytical, critical thinking and prioritization skills; detail-oriented
Demonstrated leadership skills and provided guidance to team members with constructive feedback for improvement to processes and teammate growth.
Demonstrated aptitude for effective delegation and coordination skills
Experience with coordination/leading of projects and related project tasks
Proven ability to motivate others in order to achieve tasks and goals
