About the Role
Uber is looking for a Leadership and Employee Development Lead to provide global learning and development solutions to our Community Operations Teams worldwide. The design and delivery of targeted leadership and personal development programs are essential to ensure that leaders and individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate their careers at Uber.
This role requires an expert in developing impactful Leadership and Personal Development programs and solutions in a global context. The Leadership & Employee Development Lead will have deep expertise in leadership philosophies, principles and approaches combined with an ability to design and deploy world-class solutions across geographical boundaries.
What You’ll Do
Partnership. Work with HRBP / People Development / Regional Employee Development teams and business stakeholders to define leadership and personal effectiveness capability requirements and develop innovative world-class solutions to address them.
Consulting and communication. Conduct assessments using sound learning needs analysis methodology to establish a baseline of capability and develop a targeted leadership and personal development strategy and plan. Continually review and adapt the strategy and plan to ensure that teams have the right leadership and personal effectiveness capabilities to deliver on current priorities, emerging business needs and a compelling employee value proposition.
Training design and project management. Regularly build and submit evidenced-based business cases (and budgets) for approval. Work with strategic partners, 3rd party vendors, subject matter experts and learning designers to develop unique and inspirational solutions tailored to Community Operations’ requirements. Manage design and development through to delivery and evaluation of learning solutions. May do some instructional design work.
Program delivery and management. Develop and execute deployment plan and all associated change management and communications. Ensure delivery of program in line with business expectations and agreed milestones. Establish facilitator network, including defining and maintaining facilitator quality frameworks. Design and delivery of TTT programs and some facilitation may be required.
Reporting and analysis. Develop an evaluation strategy for each learning program and work with learning analysts to provide timely, meaningful and accurate reporting on learning effectiveness and individual performance. Analyze data to identify capability gaps. Provide regular monitoring, analysis and reporting of budget and spend.
Continuous improvement. Own the Employee Development curriculum, including maintenance schedules and continuous improvement. Keep ahead of emerging learning principles, techniques and tools to continually improve the approach to delivering exceptional learning experiences.
What You’ll Need
Must have a BS/BA (preferably an MSc/MA) with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Deep knowledge and subject matter expertise in leadership and personal development
Experience in education, learning & development, training, and instructional design essential
Exceptional ability to curate and coordinate experts and resources to deliver inspiring and impactful learning experiences
Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale programs across multiple geographies
Strong project management skills with superior organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Experience with project and asset management tools an advantage (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Box, Google Drive, etc.)
Self-starter with polished consulting skills
A team player with experience working cross-collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with fine attention to detail

Experience working in a customer service environment (business process outsourcing, call centers, etc.)
Experience with multi-media design and content authoring tools
