Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Specialist, Benefits assists with the design and administration of Company Benefit Plans, to ensure compliance for medical, dental, vision, wellness, life and disability plans. Works closely with benefit carriers to ensure proper plan administration and eligibility file accuracy. Partners with HR department managers to ensure accurate benefits communication and address escalated employee benefits questions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Research and accurately communicate multiple plan designs across multiple facilities. Oversee the daily administration of the LifePoint Health benefit programs, including but not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, All Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Saving Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Adoption Benefits and Tuition Reimbursement. Responsible for the analysis and resolution of business tickets, emails, and phone calls related to escalated benefits issues; including identifying the root cause, understanding downstream impact and implementing resolutions. Manage the recurring file transfer processes on a weekly basis, including but not limited to: Files to and from the Company\u2019s HRIS system, Benefit Enrollment vendors, files to LifePointBenefits.net and files to and from various other benefit related vendors. Perform audits and reconciliation of Lawson\/HRIS data, related to benefit administration, including benefit premiums. Assist with creating and analyzing routine and ad hoc reporting. Support annual and ongoing enrollment activities and events to ensure accuracy of all Plan communications materials and eligibility information and electronic files. Serve as a resource to facility HR staff, as well as other members of the Hospital Support Center (HSC), HR department and employees with respect to all Benefit Plans, including participation in New Hire Orientation and Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activities. Act as a liaison and proactively follows up with individual vendors on items that require further research. Communicate with benefit carriers regarding plan design and proper administration. Manage the Lawson\/HRIS transition process for facilities as needed. Regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and\/or abilities required. Education: Bachelor\u2019s Degree. Experience: Minimum 3 year of related experience. Lawson experience required. Certifications: N\/A Licenses: N\/A Skills and Abilities: Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs. Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Moderate Communication -- Simple messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records. May explain and offer guidance on routine procedures. Routine Business Problems -- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
