Accounting - Payroll Specialist','1800298','US-OH-Fairfield','!*!The Cincinnati Insurance Companies' Payroll department is currently seeking a payroll specialist to process bi-weekly payroll duties, including processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports, processing tax forms and resolving payroll issues.
The payroll specialist reports directly to the accounting manager and helps with payroll preparations for more than 5,100 U.S.-based employees.
prepare bi-weekly payroll processing, including balancing time cards and payroll changes, running reports and organizing information from other departments
process and balance bi-weekly pay
complete garnishment process - respond to agencies, correspondence with associates, create file, mail checks and PeopleSoft garnishment set up
distribute final payroll reports and payments to vendors and other departments
conduct weekly data audits, resolve payroll issues and correct errors accordingly
run reports to support business needs
run reports, create deduction files and audit payroll registers
take on special projects as requested
ensure compliance with internal policies and practices
answer associate payroll questions and facilitate timely resolutions to discrepancies
accurately process detail-oriented work
work overtime as needed
the ability to efficiently organize workload and adapt quickly to change
strong work ethic and team player
the ability to work independently and proactively in a time-sensitive environment while using good judgment
strong attention to detail and confident decision-making skills

in-house payroll experience for large corporation preferred
knowledge of PeopleSoft HR preferred
associate’s degree in accounting preferred
certified Payroll Professional designation or Fundamental Payroll Certification preferredStarting Range of Pay: $17- $24/hr based on knowledge and skills
