Description

The Workday HRIS Manager (Manager, Software Engineering) is responsible for the experience of thousands of associates, leaders, contractors, and applicants engaging with Humana and HR through Workday. They will lead a Workday Configuration team responsible for key workstreams and aligned to the respective HR business owners. They will build critical partnerships with associates throughout HR, IT, Finance, and the business. They will work within and continually improve the established routines of the team regarding system enhancements, testing, and auditing. They will apply advanced technical knowledge and associate-centric thinking to solve a range of technical and process problems.

Responsibilities

The Workday HRIS Manager (Manager, Software Engineering) will ensure associates have the best experience possible leveraging Workday. From Recruiting and Onboarding, through Performance, Payroll, and Benefits, Humana leverages the majority of Workday's HR suite, effectively becoming the front door to many transactions with HR. As such, we want to ensure that the experience is the best possible and that the data within the system is always pristine. The leader of the team is empowered to continuously improve the experience and work with team members and business partners to do so.

The associate will constantly leverage their technical and Workday expertise to help solve complex problems, collaborate with team members to help them think through opportunities, and even perform configuration within the tenant. A deep technical understanding of the complexities and interconnectedness of the Workday modules is critical to ensuring not only the stability of the platform, but that we are also maximizing our investment.

As a leader of a Workday configuration team, this individual will be responsible for helping team members think through challenges, providing stretch assignments and developmental opportunities, coordinating work among team members, and modeling Humana leader behaviors and practices. The individual will also be instrumental in standard team routines such as intake, testing, and audits that are necessary to ensure stability of and confidence in the system. Additionally, this leader will be instrumental as a central point of contact and leader for major projects impacting or impacted by Workday including acquisitions and divestitures.

Our systems don't operate in a vacuum. As such, establishing and maintaining partnerships will be critical to the success of the individual in this role. Beyond working with direct team members, key partnerships need to be maintained with various areas of Human Resources, Finance, IT, and various business units. This could include regular operation, escalations, and larger projects such as acquisitions with challenges such as conflicting requirements or capacity prioritization issues. Partnering closely with these areas will ensure strategic alignment to meet the needs of the business as well as ensure that we are providing the greatest associate experience possible. Through the best experience for our associates, they can deliver the best experience to our members.

Required Qualifications

Three years of experience configuring and supporting Workday

Experience with a variety of HR systems to support employees, contingent workers, and candidates

Demonstrated focus on the user experience while within HR systems

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships throughout and beyond Human Resources and influence partners where appropriate

Ability to engage and develop partners and primary system users to enable them to understand complex and technical concepts

Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues through Workday reporting and configuration

Strong oral, written, analytic, and presentation skills

Ability to leverage technology and tools to communicate, track, document, and analyze the utilization of HR systems

Ability to influence, develop, and coach team members

Experience leading or working as part of an interdependent team supporting an enterprise HR application

Associate's Degree in a related field or comparable experience

Preferred Qualifications

Implementation experience with Workday or other major HR systems including stabilization with a company of similar scale and complexity to Humana

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
