Position Summary:

As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide general support and administration for several functions including, sourcing/recruiting/staffing activities. You’ll be responsible for assisting with benefits, HRIS, compensation, employee relations, and FMLA. Your daily activities will consist of communicating with and answering routine questions from client group managers and associates based on your knowledge of Human Resources program guidelines. You will be tasked with managing multiple priorities while producing accurate work in an environment subject to frequent interruptions. Main Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Manager with proper identification and recording of vacant positions for staffing using the Personnel Requisition program, including detailed activities involving the HRIS and compensation programs
  • Participates in the initial screening of candidates to determine qualifications
  • Maintains appropriate logs for Affirmative Action program tracking
  • Assists with Internal Job Posting program
  • Creates files for new hires
  • Conducts part of the new hire orientation program on a weekly basis
  • Develops and maintains various forms of detailed record-keeping that require a high degree of accuracy which involves automated as well as manual activities, including HRIS program, benefit program enrollment, compensation program maintenance, workers compensation program administration , short term disability and long term disability plans, and FMLA tracking
  • Monitors and ensures quality of own work
  • Serves as a primary contact for FMLA and STD programs
  • Approves FMLA leaves based on established federal and company policies
  • Escalates issues of a questionable nature for further discussion to ensure company-wide practices remain consistent
  • Liaises with third party administrator for all STD claims
  • Assists the Sr. HR Manager to promote effective employee relations programs, both directly (through one on one contact with associates) and indirectly (through members of management team) using established program guidelines
  • Responds promptly to customer’s needs and concerns
  • Looks for opportunities to identify improvements to processes and makes these known to HR Manager
  • Participates in implementation of approved process changes for the HR function and monitors/reports on results as requires
  • Participates/facilitates various HR task forces

Preferred Qualifications

We’d be excited to hear if you also have the following experience:

  • Experience using PeopleSoft or similar system
  • Experience using Kronos or similar system
  • Experience using IBM Kenexa Brassring or other Applicant Tracking System

Minimum Qualifications

We would like our talented associate for this role to have at least these minimum skills & experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years’ experience in a HR function
