Manages Human Resources programs and processes for the firms California offices. Major areas covered included: recruiting/staffing, onboarding of new employees, employee benefit enrollment, and compensation,. The Human Resources Manager is also responsible for regulatory compliance, employee relations, and performance management. Candidates will have the following responsibilities:Conduct orientation for all newly hired lawyers and support staff. Provide assistance and guidance to management team in legal aspects of hiring, including INS regulations, reference checking, screening of resumes, and preliminary interviews. Perform duties in a management capacity including, but not limited to discrimination complaints, workers compensation, and assisting in resolution of HR related problems and conflicts. Ensure consistency with employment policies and legal compliance including ADA, FMLA, Wage and Hour, Visa and Immigration Laws. Interview applicants for staff and management positions as requested by hiring managers. Communicate benefits plans and programs to employees. Work with Employee Benefits staff to resolve benefit questions and issues. Report all Workers Compensation claims, file claim information as required, follow-up on claims and research problems. Manage claims with assistance of worker's compensation carrier and case managers. Prepare annual human resources budget for California offices. Edit and approve time in eLabor Time and Attendance System for departments, as needed. Participate in salary surveys on a regular basis to maintain market competitive compensation practices. Analyze survey data to recommendations of salary adjustments if necessary. Oversee annual evaluation process and provide recommendations for annual salary increases for California staff. Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to managementJob Requirements:Bachelors’ degree required. Human Resources Management or Business Management degree preferred. Experience in Human Resources management for a period of between five and ten years required.Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing.Demonstrated leadership skills such as organizing, problem-solving, and decision making.Generalist ability in all disciplines of human resource management.Ability to establish effective working relationships with all Firm personnel.Must have working knowledge of all pertinent employment laws and a thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations.
