Overview
Job Purpose:
Partner and collaborate with management to assist with employee relations issues, policies and procedures, and development. Assist with direction and support initiatives to help company and department reach goals.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Responsible for employee relations issues, prepare investigative documents, including interview notes and summary of findings.
Functions as an advocate for fair and consistent treatment to all associates.
Escalation point to both management and associates on disputed workplace conflicts/concerns.
Provide counseling to managers on relations issues, legal issues, policy interpretation, and other human capital issues.
Reduce company’s legal exposure and ensure effective management practices are being consistently used
Coach, develop and train leadership on policies.
Monitors associate climate to identify issues/trends and counsels managers on identifying issues and implementing corrective action.
Analyze trends, interpret data and share information, and support department in developing and implementing plans to address opportunities for improvement.
Advise and counsel managers on how to handle performance issues, reviews disciplinary actions, actively manages follow ups.
Monitors associate climate to identify trends/issues; counsels managers on identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
Participates in unemployment hearings and testifies in hearings as appropriate
Maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
Provides orientation to customer service hew hire classes.
Conduct exit interviews of associates being off-boarded.
Conduct associate surveys:
Review the need to conduct surveys
Develop and manage surveys through Cornerstone
Analyze survey results and recommend appropriate action
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, with the ability to have open and candid communications.
Ability to build partnerships, establishes trust, and influences others.
Must be a self- starter with the ability to define and facilitate change.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues concurrently. Flexibility is required.
Strategic thinking, analysis and planning skills.
Able to link strategic with tactical.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, across all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with training design and evaluation techniques. Good presentation skills.
Strong PC skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word/Excel/Power point.
Strong knowledge of current labor laws.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources
5 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources
2 years’ experience in employee relations
Experience with ADP products
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR/SPHR Certification
Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
