Responsibilities

The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist in the Office of Human Resources, HR Research and Assessment Division. Typical work assignments include:

Performing full range of supervisory functions: plans and directs the work to be accomplished based on priorities.

Analyzing research and assessment operations, identifying problem areas and developing solutions for improving efficiency, accuracy and quality of services.

Identifying issues, initiate and coordinate research; prepares and reviews papers, memorandum, and other materials.

Providing advice and assistance to the Division Chief concerning personnel management program issues, proposals and recommendations.

Qualifications

GS-14: You qualify for the GS-14 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as: managing and directing the activities of specialists; conducting research studies, developing rating and ranking question templates; designing and administering training; determining the operations and logistics for an organization, employee, and applicant assessments and overseeing the coordination of these initiatives.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
