The Recruiting Manager is responsible for all aspects of legal recruiting across all offices, including summer associates, new associates, and lateral hires as well as special projects relating to attorney and staff development.
Manages all aspects of the lateral attorney recruitment program, ensuring appropriate communication and coordination with candidates, firm attorneys, administrative management, and any third-party recruiters.
Works with Practice Group Leaders/Lateral Hiring Partner to determine hiring requirements for lateral attorney openings.
Drafts and follows up on lateral hire offer letters and maintains lateral hire notebook.
Establishes, maintains and builds relationships with third-party recruiters and executes standard search firm agreements.
Conducts due-diligence with attorney candidates
e.g., references, bar admission verifications, conflicts checks, etc.).
Oversees on-campus and in-office interviews and manages offer process for all student candidates.
Oversees and participates in summer events, orientation for summer associates and monitors summer associate work evaluations.
Participates in Attorney Development meetings.
Monitors recruiting budget, maintains recruiting statistics and prepares periodic reports and analyses.
Ensures participation in industry surveys and provides support for development programs and initiatives.
Special research projects as assigned by Chief Associate Development Officer.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree required. 5 years relevant work experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with lawyers, staff, peers, and a variety of external entities.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle a wide variety of responsibilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, and applicant tracking software
