Recruit qualified drivers who meet or exceed Duncan Trucking, Ltd. hiring criteria, in order to maintain maximum staffing levels. Develop potential driver leads using cold calling, e-mail, computer databases, social media, and other internet recruiting resources. Assist with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation enforcement, recruiting and driver training. Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance as pertains to the Duncan Trucking, Ltd. driver recruitment.
Develops potential driver leads by fielding calls and following up on voicemails and other correspondence from prospective drivers. Monitors data received from various databases and ad resources. Presents qualified drivers with job related information and the benefits of working for Duncan Trucking Ltd. in an optimistic (yet truthful) manner and closes the offer to meet or exceed the desired recruitment goals. Assists qualified drivers with completing the application then reviews submitted applications for completeness. Ensures all necessary documentation is sent to potential drivers in a timely manner to expedite the onboarding process. (50%)
Runs MVR's. Coordinates and confirms background screening, drug testing, and orientation schedules. Performs employment verifications as required by company hiring guidelines and DOT regulations. Verifies current medical card status. Eliminates applicants from consideration who do not meet company guidelines or DOT regulations. Prepares, evaluates, and submits completed applicants to the Safety Manager for final review. Arranges travel and lodging for drivers attending orientation, if needed. Communicates with Driver Trainer to ensure truck availability. Follows up with drivers who fail to report to orientation to reschedule this at a later date. (15%)
Reviews promotional flyer quarterly to ensure accurate information is communicated. Places and updates advertising for driving position on various career sites (such as JobsInManufacturing, Craigslist, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.). Communicates on social media (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to reach potential applicants. Maintains a tracking database to monitor effectiveness of ads and hiring. Participates in off-site recruiting efforts by traveling to job fairs, industry trade shows, and truck stops to recruit potential drivers, as needed. (15%)
Communicates referral program to current drivers during orientation. (10%)
Assists in performing DOT & Non-DOT urine and saliva specimens for pre-employment, random, post accident, and follow up drug and alcohol testing. Randomly test 50% of all drivers for drugs and 10% of all drivers for alcohol as per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. (5%)
Perform other Safety, administrative, and support duties, as required. (5%)
Must be a highly motivated and results oriented, self-starter with a proven track record of 3 years of prior driver recruitment experience. Previous sales or customer service experience is a plus.
Must possess basic knowledge of DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Must possess excellent verbal and written skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate in a professional, respectful manner to get required results – English is required and Spanish is preferred. Also must be able to answer and follow up on calls and emails outside of normal business hours.
Must possess intermediate computer skills to navigate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) applications, process data on recruiting databases (such as HireRight, Tenstreet, Driver Facts, etc.), and post ads on websites and social media pages (such as JobsInManufacturing, LinkedIn, Google AdWords, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
Must demonstrate the ability to multitask, set priorities and goals, and follow through on required tasks to completion. Organized, on time, maintain excellent attendance, work any shift to include weekends (as needed), and respond to after hour calls based on the needs of the business. Must also be responsive in following up on driver leads in a timely manner.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal and previous employer background checks, and verify eligibility to work in the US. Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol testing.
