Profile

Position Summary Responsible coordinate the scheduling and assignment of nursing personnel and patient placement. Maintains database for regulatory agency compliance, productivity and serves as a resource for At Staff Scheduling and Kronos Payroll System. Minimum Education Requirements High school diploma or GED Minimum Experience Requirements 2 years clerical experience Medical terminology Understanding of different levels of care and staffing to meet patient care needs. License\/Certifications N\/A Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * ) \u00b7 Accurately maintain database (computer and manual systems) regularly (daily and monthly) for both the staffing and patient placement areas for quality assessment. * \u00b7 Participates in positive customer relations with both internal and external customers. * \u00b7 Timely acknowledgment of faxed information* \u00b7 Equitable distribution and assignment of nursing resources in conjunction with nursing leadership* \u00b7 Equitable distribution of shift availability. * \u00b7 Informing Managers of staffing\/employee issues through e-mails\/reports. * \u00b7 Prompt notification of contract agencies for cancellation\/confirmations, payroll issues, or employee issues.* \u00b7 Knowledgeable and responsible for staying current on staffing and patient placement guidelines and policies as directed by Team Leader and\/or Clinical Nurse Manager so as to stay within budget restraints. * \u00b7 Coordinates and assigns nursing float staff and patients admitted into hospital system using appropriate guidelines and resources. Places patients\/staff in accordance of priority and needs in a timely manner. * \u00b7 Accurate data entry for nursing hours for all assigned units and staff in AtStaff. * \u00b7 Accurate activation\/deactivation of contract labor badging. * \u00b7 Identifies and participates in process improvement activities. * \u00b7 Maintains quarterly review of agency profiles. * \u00b7 Maintain upkeep of personnel overstaffing records. * \u00b7 Creates and maintains records of work done on a shift by shift, daily, weekly and monthly basis. * \u00b7 Determines priorities for staffing needs in conjunction with the nursing unit charge nurses and administrative coordinators* \u00b7 Functions well in emergency situations ,i.e., excessive unscheduled absences, natural\/man made disasters, mass casualties, or excessively high census. * \u00b7 Demonstrates ability to investigate and resolve complaints. * \u00b7 Demonstrates effective problem-solving and ability to prioritize work flow. * \u00b7 Contributes toward positive work environment amidst stressful situations, i.e., frequent interruptions, impatient customers. * \u00b7 Determines priorities for staffing needs and develops plans accordingly. * \u00b7 Responsible for accurate communication of staffing\/patient placement needs\/changes to nursing units to maintain patient safety and employee satisfaction. * \u00b7 Performs excellence customer service in telephone etiquette. * \u00b7 Communicates effectively with nursing units, nursing staff, co-workers, and managers. * \u00b7 Displays professional communication through timely emails. * \u00b7 Prompt answering of phones with timely response to voice mail.* Physical Requirements Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert\/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally
