Job Description:
SUMMARY
Works with the Human Resources manager to administer policies and provide support relating to all phases of employment activity, including employee relations, benefits, training, recruiting, interviewing and hiring, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
Plans and assists in new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals; assists in planning and executing employee events.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401K plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Assists in training management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Represents company at employment events such as career fairs, job fairs and professional association meetings.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and maintains compendium and compensation guides.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Enters salary and wage information, as well as new hires, into HRIS; updates PAF information into HRIS and ensures synchronization between HRIS, payroll and timekeeping systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
One to three years' experience in a support role of employment relations required.
Must have prior experience managing FMLA USERA leaves and coaching and counseling.
