ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:nJob duties grouped into major areas ofnresponsibility. Staffing Assist operations staff in maintainingnrequired staffing levels through an effective recruiting campaign,nutilizing newspaper ads, state employment agency, job fairs, SHRM,nand other avenues as needed. nnAssist in screening / interviewing job applicants.n Encourage inter-company promotionalnopportunities through utilization of the Job PostingnPolicy. Assist with thenemployment process by conducting background checks and MVR checksnwhen appropriate. Ensure compliancenwith DOT requirements when CDL is required of newnhire. Complete post-offer paperwork includingnI-9, W-4, Direct Deposit, and other company-required forms upon newnhire completion of drug screen and physical/medicalnquestionnaire. Complete benefitnenrollments using the bSwift, online system and be able to speakninformatively on the Companyu2019s current insurancenofferings. Process drug screennand physical invoices. Plan and conductsnnew team member orientation. EmploymentnPractices Consults Corporate Human Resources tonensure that policies comply with federal and statenlaw. Identifies legalnrequirements and government reporting regulations affecting humannresources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reportingnare in compliance. Coordinates andnconducts management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations,npromotions, performance evaluations, andnharassment. Investigates andnadvises management in appropriate resolution of employee relationsnissues. Ensures compliancento AAP policy. Responds toninquiries regarding policies, procedures andnprograms. Ensures completionnof Exit Interviews Administersnperformance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance andnequity within the organization. nnCommunicate and interpret relevant information tonoperations staff regarding Human Resources Policy and Proceduresnincluding Re-hire policy, Attendance policy, Termination policy,netc.Notify the General Manager as needed when issues,ndiscrepancies, or deviations arise. Benefits / SalarynAdministration Administer benefits -- includingnInsurance (medical, dental, life, etc.) FMLA, Short Term Disabilityn(STD), etc. Coordinate allnunemployment claims and represents the company at unemploymentnhearings. Manages salarynadministration program to ensure compliance and equity within thenorganization. Conducts Wage /nBenefit surveys within labor market to determine competitive wagenrate. Payroll/Attendance Enter new hires or complete new hirenkit, as appropriate, including assigning clock numbers, making timencards, etc. Complete requirednpayroll and/or time keeping reports and other reports includingnPunch Detail Reports, Daily Exception Reports, etc. asnrequired. ProcessnPayroll. Process statusnchanges as appropriate. Calculate plantnincentive as required. Forward Wagengarnishments, loan information requests, and otherndocuments/requests to the appropriate corporate staff.n nTrack employee attendance information in Kronos, ExcelnSpreadsheet, or other tracking system.n Generate attendance reports andnProgressive Counseling Forms and ensure proper tracking andnadministration of the attendance policy.n nProcess employee tool purchases asnrequired. Prepares teamnmembers separation notices and relatedndocumentation. Prepares reportsnand recommends procedures to reducenabsenteeism. Other Maintain team member files includingnpersonnel, benefits, work comp. and medical,netc. Attend Staff andnother meetings as necessary and/or whennrequested. Complete and/ornprocess employment verifications asnrequired. Maintain openncommunications with team members as required to perform allnessential duties and tasks. CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:nSpecialized knowledge, skills, and abilities required innorder to do the job.Any specialized training or course work?Anyncertifications or licenses? Bacheloru2019s degree (B.A.) from four-yearncollege or university or 5 years related experience and/orntraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.n(Preferably in a manufacturing environment).n Ability to read, analyze and interpretnthe most complex of documents. nnAbility to respond effectively to the most sensitiveninquiries or complaints. Ability to speak innfront of and train large groups. n Knowledge ofnfederal, state and local laws, regulations and standards applicablento the human resources field. n Ability to dealneffectively with applicants, team members, peers, and managementnstaff. Proficient inncomputer skills including data entry, AS400, and Microsoft Officensuite.
