The position will be part of the Controller's organization and will be responsible for ensuring the company's benefits and payroll liabilities (accrued salaries, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, etc.) are properly stated, and processes are in place to ensure proper settlement of said liabilities per provider agreements and statutory regulations. The position will interface heavily with the payroll, benefits, A/P and Treasury teams to ensure proper processing, recording, settlement and reconciliation of the company's benefit liabilities. The position would manage a staff of three, but interface with the larger Accounting, Human Resources and Information Technology teams.
This position will help define business processes and transactional flow to ensure the company's financial position are properly stated while providing accurate data for decision makers about cost pools and benefit plans.
Reconciling all payroll and benefit related accounts (Health & Welfare, 401K, FICA, SUTA, Accrued Salaries, etc.)
Developing and implementing business, cross functional, and financial processes around payroll and benefits transactions
Enforcing strict compliance to internal controls and adherence to company policies
Understanding of payroll, benefit and accounting financial cycles
Ability to develop cross functional processes to ensure data flowing across the enterprise is accurate
Ability to apply Project and Program Management Principles to transformational initiatives
Data analytic skills and root cause identification
Demonstrated track record of delivering value through continuous improvement
Experience transforming business processes

BS or graduate degree in Accounting / Finance
Seven years of experience with the processing, recording, settlement and reconciliation of benefit liabilities preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Familiarity with Cost Point / Deltek and ADP Benefit and Payroll databases
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting especially related to the payroll and benefit accounting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work with teams and independently
Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
Ability to maintain and establish relationships across Finance, I/T and Human Resources
Demonstrate composure in stressful situations
Proven track record of improving process and effectiveness

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
