Human Resources Director
Pay Grade 20
NUMBER OF DAYS:
Assist in the day to day responsibilities and duties of human resources and benefits functions in the District.
Benefits Administration for the district including processing medical, dental, vision and life insurance, flexible spending, COBRA, HSA, etc. for all new hires and terminations. Manage the online benefit enrollment system, annual enrollment process and work closely with broker and carrier contacts.
Manage FMLA and other paid and/or unpaid leaves for district staff.
Manage annual personal day process.
Maintain the classified employee seniority list and investigate and correct discrepancies if reported.
Assist with the monthly preparation of HR board agenda items.
Assist with the hiring process and manage classified substitute, supplemental and other as needed positions including posting positions, screening, on-boarding, and annual intent of employment.
Manage the Peoplewerks HR database, including entering new hires, terminations, changes, etc.
Conduct new hire orientations for all staff, including regular staff, substitutes and coaching staff.
Oversee the background check process for all district staff, including supplemental positions and classified substitutes.
Receive, track and process certified and classified tuition reimbursement requests and year-end payout.
Complete verification of employment requests (written and verbal) for current and prior district employees.
File management to include creating employee and insurance files and other related HR recordkeeping/filing.
Assist in AESOP administration: run reports, manage substitutes, monitor absences, update information, answer questions, etc.
Attend monthly Classified Staff meetings and Insurance/Wellness Committee meetings, as well as, attend other HR and benefit related meetings.
Misc. duties such as compensation and benefit surveys, assist with classified and substitute handbook revisions, special projects, updating HR forms, updating the HR portion of the FOR STAFF page, etc.
Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
Assist with front office reception duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supt., Asst. Supt. or HR Director.
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
Proven experience working with employee benefit and leave programs.
Knowledge of federal and state laws related to FMLA, Affordable Care Act, and other employee related laws.
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or HR Director and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer literacy, including typing skills.
Organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work with high accuracy on tasks requiring sustained attention to details.
Accurate basic math skills.
Highly effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work cooperatively with adults.
Repetitive hand motions (typing/computer).
Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather; that is, being prepared to work on all days the office is open.
Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, reach with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
Occasional requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, office supplies, up to 25 lbs.

Length of Employment: One Year Limited Contract
Salary: Based on current classified salary schedule with appropriate experience and training
Fringe Benefits: Based on current classified handbook
