The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

Communication and administration of supplemental executive and physician benefits including coordinating those benefits with the qualified plans, the health and welfare plans, and the fringe benefits.
Ensure administration of plans is in sync with plan documents, summary plan descriptions and other plan operational documentation and information.
Conduct annual audit of participant deferrals elections between Allina and Fidelity
Process weekly contribution files to Fidelity for both qualified and non-qualified plans
Responsible for set up of Chaplains in various church pension plans and processing contributions to the plan
Responsible for participant data updates to acquired governmental pension plan and sending monthly data files to the vendor
Assist in development and distribution of non-qualified communications to eligible employees.
Conduct enrollment meetings for physicians and executives (weekly meetings for new hires, and annual enrollment meetings for current employees). Local travel between Allina locations is required.
Implement approved plan changes and cost containment initiatives.
Responsible for managing vendor billing and retroactive adjustments.
Coordinate with HRIS, Payroll, HR Service Center, and/or external partners to resolve complex/escalated issues, to ensure seamless implementation of plan changes, and for purposes of day-to-day coordination of benefit plan administration.
Ensure appropriate documentation is prepared for new hire transactions and existing employee changes and that employee files are maintained in accordance with retention requirements.
Provide training and guidance to HR Service Center to ensure employees are provided accurate responses to inquiries regarding routine administrative issues.
Perform routine audits of data.
Support implementation of newly acquired business units or other entities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend solutions and implement recommended improvements.
Coordinate and participate in various planning meetings with vendors, consultants and internal project teams.
Provide support, planning and coordination for the Retirement Committee.
Serve as back-up for other Benefits’ Specialists

BA/BS required
1 to 2 years of benefits or HR experience (non-qualified benefit plan knowledge preferred)
Excellent attention to detail is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with employees at all levels, particularly executives and physicians
Problem solving, analytical and decision making skills
Ability to consistently manage multiple projects with concurrent deadlines
Exemplary customer service orientation
Ability to independently prioritize workload
Ability to partner with other areas of the organization (Business Unit HR, Labor Relations, HRIS, HR. Service Center, and Treasury) as well as external partners/vendors to implement, communicate and administer the non-qualified benefit plans
Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion
Knowledge of PeopleSoft highly desirable
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
CEBS and/or CBP certification (or work towards certification) preferred
