Franciscan Medical Group is looking for a HR Business Partner to join our Employee Relations team supporting our medical clinics.
CHI Franciscan Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington is looking for a growth-oriented and innovative Employee/Labor Relations Specialist located within our largest hospital. St. Joseph Medical Center, a 361-bed regional medical center that is home to the South Sound's largest heart & vascular center, a Level II Trauma Center and a Level III NICU. This position will also work with St. Elizabeth Hospital, a Critical Access hospital in Enumclaw, on a routine basis.

Job Summary:
The Employee Labor Relations Specialist is responsible for providing employee relations advice, assistance, investigations and training in interpreting company policy and procedures under the direction of the Human Resource Director. You will be a consistent presence demonstrating our core values and be the primary contact for your assigned managers and leaders supporting them on their human resource needs. This position will also need you to stay current on and ensuring compliance with regulatory/legal requirements for the fast changing environment of the medical field.
Essential Duties of this position:
Provides employee relations consultation services to management, ensuring timely and relevant follow-up.
Serves as contact point for employees to provide human resources assistance, ensuring timely and relevant follow-up and resolutions.
Partner with assigned managers to address labor grievances and other labor relation issues.
Provide training and development to managers and staff.
Maintains, reviews, updates and audits legal competencies and compliance with FHS policies, contracts and legal requirements; completes documentation as necessary.
Performs related duties as required.

','!*!Education/Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
Four years of recent human resources experience, preferably in Employee Relations and in a unionized environment that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
Work experience in an acute care hospital setting is strongly preferred.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Licensure/Certification
SPHR or PHR certification is preferred.
