About the Position The human resource generalist is directly responsible for aligning business objectives and priorities of the Specialties Program Group (SPG) unit with HR strategies and best practices. The position is responsible for overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource business priorities, employee relations, and will serve as the primary HR resource for SPG. The role assesses and anticipates business needs aligns with HR solutions and is highly responsive to a rapidly evolving business environment. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function (centers of expertise, payroll, benefits, L&D, talent acquisition, compensation, HR colleagues), throughout Hub to deliver value-added service to management and employees. Responsibilities: Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs from managers, employees and outside agencies. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations\u2019 issues, including but not limited to layoffs, discipline issues, terminations, hiring\/selection and training. Coordinates resolution with legal and other business partners. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention and resolve performance issues. Conducts new employee orientation programs to foster positive onboarding employee experience. Responsible for training employee and manager on responsibilities and self- service utilization of HRIS system (currently Workday), Timekeeping system (currently Kronos) and supports data integrity of HR systems. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Administer\/Review company titles and positions to ensure fair or equitable treatment of employees in similar positions.Monitor salary adjustments to ensure fair or equitable treatment and adherence to state and federal guidelines. Responsible for preparing workforce related dashboards to enable business leaders with relevant workforce data to support decision making. Designs\/ implements department specific HR initiatives driven by SPG leadership. Implements initiatives for SPG that are corporate wide HR initiatives. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Collaborate with corporate HR on government reporting and compliance. Intake, investigate and respond to employee complaints. Document issues as needed in preparation for any future complaints, legal actions, unemployment hearings, etc. Travel as needed to offices to conduct training, assist with difficult or potentially litigious personnel issues and discipline. Prepares for and responds to all employee related claims, including but not limited to unemployment claims, EEOC charges, state wage claims, litigation. Works with outside counsel as necessary to ensure successful resolution to all issues. Act as an intermediary, as needed, with various levels of management to ensure communication, appropriate authorization of various areas of employment, HR related issues, etc.Assists both management and employees to resolve interpersonal conflicts.Listen effectively, give suggestions, and offer solutions to enable individuals to work together more effectively and efficiently. Responsible for state and local leave administration and practices. Administers goal setting and performance review program via Workday and trains managers to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Manages salary administration to ensure compliance and equity within organization. Ability to travel throughout assigned region. Required Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in a related field and a minimum of four years or experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. At least two years of HR experience Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to communicate thoughts effectively to others. Effective mediation skills and abilities. \u00b7 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Other Skills and Abilities This job requires the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. A sense of urgency and responsiveness is critical to success in this job. This job also requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. This job requires strict confidentiality. Computer proficiency with MS Office & Windows.
