Job Description: HR Generalist The function of this position is to manage an effective, consistent, ethical, and objective human resource process through development, implementation, and administration of human resource programs, policies, and procedures for organizational development, employment and staffing, employee development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations to support business objectives, and to meet human resource needs, and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Along with other HR representatives, this position provides HR support to the Huntsville facility. Principal accountabilities of this position include the following: u2022Develop strong understanding of business needs and provide functional expertise, leadership, support, and HR guidance to leaders to build people capability to support business goals and objectives. u2022Coordinate all plant union avoidance initiatives and reduce potential of unionization through continuous assessment, feedback, and data gathering. u2022Partner with leaders on employee relations issues and strategies, trend identification, development of solutions and development of people management skills. u2022Consult and coach leaders on complex employee relations issues, performance management, and organizational effectiveness at all levels of the organization. Provide advice and counsel to leaders and managers regarding HR policies and practices and employment law. u2022Partner with Corporate Legal and EEO department to conduct investigations, respond to EEOC charges and lawsuits, research policies/practices, create and gather documentation, and determine and implement resolutions. Identify best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvements. u2022Partner with other HR professionals on appropriate training and coaching for managers to improve skills in coaching and managing performance. u2022Manage projects and functional HR areas to improve processes, drive consistency, increase efficiency, and enhance organizational performance. u2022Maintain strict confidentiality during discussions and investigations. Manage highly confidential information and exercise sound judgment in working with confidential data and situations. u2022Ensure that the Company - Huntsville operates within current and local employment law, policies and procedures, and applies good practice to sustain our reputation as a good employer. Requires: This position requires at least an undergraduate degree (Masteru2019s degree preferred) in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, or a related business field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the human resources function with progressive responsibilities. The incumbent must possess demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills and HR expertise, and be knowledgeable in a variety of state, federal, and local employment laws, unemployment compensation, workers compensation, union-free relations, etc. The incumbent must also have demonstrated the effective utilization of skills in such areas as planning, decision-making, problem solving, communication, administration, people development and motivation. Interpersonal skills are utilized in resolving conflicts of personnel policy or practice in application to individual cases as well as the administration of fair, consistent, and non discriminatory practices at Company. The incumbent must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability, in order to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
