Director, Career Advisor ( Organizational Effectiveness)','ORG00012','!*!  Overview:  In order to solve the financial challenges of our changing world, we must anticipate what will happen in an environment in which customers are expecting more and competitors are moving faster. With that, one of our key areas of focus is Future of Work, which is a large-scale initiative to understand and address the impact of rapid changes in customer behaviors and needs, technology and competition. Reporting to the Vice President, Career Design Lead, the Director, Career Advisor is a newly created role and will be a key component to this strategy. The Career Design Center is an internal career center developed to drive career mobility of Prudential talent in a rapidly changing business environment. As part of this center, the Career Advisor will be responsible for offering career coaching and counseling to help talent explore their career interests, skills and capabilities and enable them to prepare for future development opportunities and advance their careers. You will also help identify development opportunities which are customized to their strengths and allow them to utilize their distinct capabilities.Location: Newark, NJ or one of our other main Prudential office locations.  Other locations would require working from Newark one day per week. Your role: • You will design and implement a flexible and adaptable coaching approach and framework • We will look to you to identify career opportunities that best align with an individual’s talents, goals and aspirations through the use of technology and assessments • We will rely on you to leverage skills assessment strategy to identify current employee skillsets and career aspirations and future needs of the organization that will aid in identifying internal placements • You will apply your strong consultative skills to support employees in crafting resumes and linked in profiles that stand out, building effective interview skills and job search strategies. • You will provide insightful coaching and advice through career transitions • You’re a champion of our inclusive culture.  You work closely with FoW leaders, business leaders, CoE’s and HRBPs to understand the talent and help best align talent to opportunities based on skillsets and capabilities needed for the future  ','!*!Your Expertise

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Passion for catalyzing and driving change while ensuring outcomes are

delivered on time with the right balance of speed and thoroughness

• Superior oral and written communication skills

• Strong executive presence including ability to influence and interact

with people at all levels

• Strong business acumen; a passion for people development coupled with

strong process architecture orientation

• Established track record in the field, with proven experience in both

general employee and management and leadership development

• Proven ability and credibility working effectively and collaboratively

within complex organizations

• Undergraduate degree required

 

It would be a plus if you have:

• Knowledge of emerging technologies that enable workforce optimization

• Advanced degree in any of the following disciplines preferred: MBA,

organizational behavior or organizational development

• Consulting experience in coaching, training and developing employees

• Knowledge of the external career landscape and job search strategies

• Prior experience in extensive and large-scale job analysis in Fortune

100 organization
