Description: Seeking a Payroll and Tax Coordinator to be responsible for all aspects of payroll, preparation of regulatory tax filings and compliance forms. Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns. Serves as the subject matter expert for payroll tax, having a complete understanding of the process for the function in addition to how this process integrates with the overall end-to-end payroll processing. Responsible for the generation of accurate and timely payroll records and processes in accordance with company-established business operating procedures, external regulations, payroll policies and vendor processing requirements. Maintain a proper control environment to ensure that only authorized employees are paid. Ensure all required payroll withholding and tax returns are accurate, timely filed, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulatory withholding and reporting requirements. Performs detailed verification, review and preparation of payroll tax remittance Verify payments required to ensure all Federal, State and Local jurisdictional tax filings and remittance mandated deadlines, including W2 balancing. Remains current with federal, state, and local tax laws as they apply, to include multi-jurisdictional processing. Enforce adherence and advise management on required actions. Perform Tax account reconciliations and Manage Federal, State, and Local Agency Payroll Tax Notices and respond and resolve them in a timely manner Responsible for accurate set up and system maintenance of SUI rates, registration of new accounts when required, and verification of SUI rates by work location. Upload various HR files into payroll system and audit for accuracy Ensure weekly and bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner Process new hires, rehires, terminations, manual checks and compensation changes such as; severance, commissions and bonus payments Work to support the team to improve the business through technology enhancements, standardization, and simplified processes. Ability to collect, interpret, and synthesize information from payroll, benefits, HCM systems as needed is essential. SKILLS Skills\/Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. 5-8 years of Payroll and Tax experience \u2013 Preferably with ADP Preferred that candidate has or pursuing a Bachelor\u2019s degree Understands moderately complex accounting principles Multi state\/Local\/County tax filing and resolution experience Ability to independently solve problems and make recommendations to remediate issues. Excellent problem solving\/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. Demonstrated high degree of professionalism and integrity. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines with a strong results\/goal orientation. Ability to thrive in a changing environment and deal with ambiguity. Ability to work closely with others as part of a team while being able to take full responsibility for a task. Understands the methods and electronic tools used to store, retrieve and process information Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) ideas and data in a persuasive and appropriate manner Ability to interact effectively with internal customers and outside parties (i.e., ADP) Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies that may arise Ability to use spreadsheets to extrapolate data and create documents using word processing application Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, files, etc. Ability to listen effectively and actively engages others in discussion\/problem resolution. Ability to identify and pursue new ideas, solutions, methods and opportunities. Broad knowledge of how HR uses data and is able to support reporting and analytics activities.
