The Senior Payroll Administrator is primarily responsible for managing the payroll process. Specifically, the payroll administrator works closely with individuals at all levels to facilitate time collection and processing of payroll while ensuring employees are paid in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
Prepare and process bi-weekly multi-state payroll for the US and Canada for multiple FEINs and for all employees (both exempt and non exempt) which includes reviewing and ensuring accuracy of timesheets, track and deduct all garnishments, and other special payroll deductions
Ensure payroll tax compliance, including tax deposits, filings, and reconciliations to the general ledger are accurate and completed in a timely manner
Collaborate and partner with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, and benefit deductions
Process “off cycle” manual checks for terminations, pay changes, and special bonuses
Responsible for being the main point of contact for all payroll related issues/calls/meetings and respond to time-sensitive and/or confidential issues and/or questions in a timely manner
Research discrepancies of payroll information/documentation prior to processing and/or confirming each payroll
Collaborate with Accounting on forecasting and accounting for payroll related items
Be the subject matter expert for payroll and payroll tax related matters, expatriates, 1099 reporting matters, payroll general ledger mapping/reporting
Ensure that proper controls and procedures are in place, documented and followed as well as working with internal audit in testing the effectiveness of the controls.
