Job Description In order to stay competitive, to diversify our talent, to decrease time to fill and to increase our quality of candidate, it is critical that we attract and retain top talent with higher efficiency. To this end, the Virginia Tech Division of Operations Human Resources team is seeking a Recruiter/ Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This position will be responsible for leading recruitment efforts for Division of Operations positions and increasing overall awareness of Virginia Tech Division of Operations as an employer of choice. This position will focus on candidate sourcing, job description development, building of a talent pipeline for current and future positions, and tracking and managing employee referrals. The recruiter will also be responsible for building relationships with peer institutions to ensure we are aligned with hiring best practices and leading the way in strategic recruitment of candidates. In addition, this position will partner with senior management and on and off campus groups and associations, including but not limited to career services and various alumni groups around the country. This position will also serve an instrumental role in the candidate onboarding process; he or she will assist in facilitating the new hire orientation and tracking the new hireu00e2??s experience over the first year of employment to assist in retention and engagement. This recruiter will be an additional resource to work with hiring managers to clarify job specifications and requirements and develop interview questions aligned with our hiring practices and needs while working to meet Operations Diversity goals. This position will report to the Senior HR Manager and will assist the Virginia Tech Division of Operations HR Team in a strategic and proactive approach to recruitment. Strategic efforts will include but are not limited to analyzing job sites, creation of orientation/branding media, increasing social media presence, and streamlining the interview process to result in higher quality of hire and candidate retention. Willing to consider flexible part-time option (32-35 hours/week). Minimum Qualifications - Bacheloru00e2??s degree in business or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and/or training. - Experience with recruitment and selection, job analysis, classification and compensation or transferable skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse community. - Demonstrated proficiency with computer and online applications and social media networking Preferred Qualifications - Experience developing and/or implementing recruitment and selection procedures for a range of employee types including a variety of professional and non-professional classes. - Demonstrated ability to engage line management, listen to organizational needs, and tailor HR practices to meet needs. - Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems with experience recommending, developing and implementing HR solutions that meet the needs of internal customers. - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple HR activities serving multiple constituent groups. - Professional Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CIR, or similar) - Experience using BANNER HRIS. - Experience using PeopleAdmin applicant tracking/position management system.
