Profile

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:

 Ensures adherence to all Loews policies and procedures

 Works with the Associate Director of HR as a human resources advocate for the hotel.

 Serves as an advisor to team members and managers on progressive discipline inquiries, resolves complaints and conducts investigations in accordance with the team member handbook, as necessary.

 Manages Team Member of the Month/Quarter/Year recognition programs

 Assists with the preparation of the Manager of the Quarter/Year recognition program

 Responsible for coordinating training sessions, team meetings and assists Associate Director of HR in the preparation of larger events including All Team Meetings, All Leadership Meetings, Good Neighbor Events, Employee Relations Events, etc.

 Administers and reports results of new hire (90-day) and exit interviews

 Ensures that Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll paperwork is processed and forwarded to appropriate departments in a timely manner

 Helps team member with questions about benefit eligibility, qualifying events, and enrollment paperwork

 Maintains benefit enrollment packets and makes available to team member eligible due to status changes

 Reviews enrollment form information with team members and ensures all documents are complete prior to forwarding to the Benefits Department

 Works closely with Recruiters to maintain employment database and updates internal job opportunities including internal transfers, in a timely manner.

 Maintains property new team member orientation information and assists Training Manager where needed.

 Travels to and assists with job fairs, benefits fairs and any other HR related events

 Maintains Talent certification and conducts Talent interviews as needed

 Maintains Team Member demographic and job information in ADP Enterprise HRMS

 Assists with new team member orientation second day orientation

 Conducts Hepatitis B training of team members and assists departments with other OSHA training as the need arises. Works with department managers to ensure training is done in a timely manner.

 Answers questions from Team Members regarding training, benefits and HR policy.

 Acts as the hotel expert on various hotel/campus/company benefits programs (i.e. Travel Program, Star Card Program, etc.)

 Maintains office supplies.

 Coordinates and participates in Loews Good Neighbor Program (Donor’s Choose)

 Represents the HR department on various committees (i.e. Safety, Green Program, Good Neighbor, Cafeteria)

 Ensures that all appropriate printed material is shared with hotel team in a timely manner

 Prepares information for Team Member TV, including hotel specific information.

 Answers Human Resources phone, responds to inquiries and forwards appropriate messages to Human Resources Management Team

 Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters related to Human Resources, LHUO and Team Member information

 Assists Associate Director of Human Resources with HR functions that are hotel specific.

 Participates in HR related task forces or projects as needed

 Conducts exit interviews with hourly team members

 Opens and distributes department mail

 Assists team members with bus passes, Universal tickets, and iPay

• Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times

• Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance

• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow Team Members

• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards

• Complies with required safety regulations and procedures

• Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions

• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area

• Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules

• Recycles whenever possible

• Remains current with hotel information and changes

• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Required:

« Previous experience in HR related work required

« Associate of Science degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or a minimum of two years of HR experience) or equivalent experience in the Hospitality Field

« Demonstrated ability to solve problems by utilizing an understanding of HR laws and regulations

« Familiar with or able to learn ADP Enterprise HRMS and TimeSaver Time & Attendance systems, ADACO and other internal operating systems

« Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Powerpoint and reporting software (ReportSmith, EHRMS Query)

« Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail

« Excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills

« Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

« Ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels of the organization

« Good working knowledge of operational and administrative hotel departments

« Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

« Experience with issues relating to EEO, FLMA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, Worker’s Comp, OSHA and FLSA.

« Working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to appropriate interview questions surrounding Title VII and ADA issues

« Formal HR certification or training

« Preferred, not mandatory – bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Creole)

Qualification Standards

Education: H.S. Degree, Associates or higher with concentration in Human Resources is Preferred

Experience: 2 years minimum Human Resources or Hospitality Related Experience

Licenses or Certificates:
