Essential Job Functions
Assist in the administration of DHS's Employee Relations program with certified Employee Organizations (Unions).
Makes recommendation of policies, rules and regulations governing the departmental employee relations program.
Assists managers and supervisors on the appropriate interpretation and application of policies and the applicable Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Attends and represents management at grievance meetings, and provides management with recommendations for resolution.
Consults with CEO/ER on Arbitration cases and Unfair Labor Charges and other ER matter before the Employee Relations Commission.
Analyzes employee problems and individual grievance records and recommends solutions to departmental management.
Represents or assists in representing departmental management in formal negotiations with certified employee organizations.
Assists in the Meet and Consult process with representatives of the various Unions that represent DHS employees.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of supervision and management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

be a current County of Los Angeles employee who have successfully completed their probationary period and currently
hold the payroll title of Departmental Employee Relations Representative.
